Bunge & Pioneer
Friday, May 25, 2007
We all loaded the bus early in the morning to head to the Bunge Martfu
plant. We had a variety of lectures to listen to throughout the
morning.
Before we knew it, the morning turned into late afternoon and we were headed
for one last lecture at Pioneer that was hosted by Bill Frank. Before
heading to the plant tour, we each received pioneer bags with hats and
shirts! The plant tour was exciting. All the workers had already gone
home for the weekend, so we felt rather special that we were the only
ones in the plant! We concluded the tour with a group picture in the
front of the Pioneer Plant right as the sun was setting for the
evening.
Last night was pretty hard to beat, but its safe to say that tonight takes
the cake for best night. Our accommodations were at Liget Hotel in
Szarvas. It was a brand new resort that had only been open for 6 days!
The decor was ultra modern and we all anxiously ran up to our rooms to
explore what else the hotel had to offer. All of the girls rooms were
connected through an out door patio that overlooked the pool! The boys
rooms were also connected through an outdoor patio on the other side of
the hotel.
We all had a huge fancy farewell dinner right downstairs! With a delicious
buffet of traditional Hungarian food, and endless glasses of wine,
dinner lasted throughout the evening. After dinner, we were entertained
with traditional Hungarian dancing! Next, it was our turn! We each
paired up with one of the dancers; music and laughter filled the air
and at this point many of thought the night couldn’t get any better -
but we were about to proven wrong. After dinner, we all let loose and
went for a dip in the pool. We even managed to get Hamish and Rachel
in!
All in all, tonight was a perfect night. Hungary was definitely everything we had imagined and more.
