Another early morning IBIP-style: the future top-dogs of the agri-food industry peeled open their eyes only to find themselves next to our fourth roommate of the week. Each night comes with the surprise of a new roommate as we attempt to get to know one another. However, we are still wondering why European hotels always have to put twin beds right next to each other. Everyone made it to the bus on time after another large buffet style breakfast.

We woke up to the beautiful view on the 17th floor of our hotel in Utrecht, Netherlands. We learned how busy an elevator can be in a business hotel with some of us waiting 10 minutes for a lift. A few were fortunate enough to locate a service elevator to take them down to the lobby quickly. The hotel supplied us a wonderful continental breakfast complete with fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, and pancakes among other things.

Moy Park Visits and the Flight to Amsterdam
The group enjoyed our final elegant breakfast at the Belton Woods Hotel in Grantham, UK. I’m sure we will miss the English delicacy of blood pudding and steamed tomatoes. After breakfast, we hopped on the bus to finally tour the OSI poultry production facilities. that we heard so much about at dinner last night.

Belvoir Castle & Stamford, UK
After eating a very elegant continental breakfast at the Belton Woods resort, we took a short bus ride to ASDA grocery store, a European chain owned by Wal-Mart, located in Grantham. The manger of the store showed us around the store and answered questions about similarities and differences between Wal-Mart and ASDA.

Last day in Belgium!
Today we were allowed to “sleep in” until about 8:00am. We had to be ready by 9:15 and on the road by 9:30 for a tour of a family owned brewery—Lindemans. Here we learned about the entire brewing process. At the end of the tour we were given samples of their famous fruit beers.
